Top 5 Worst Date Movies

Oh Valentines Day! The one day of the year when couples get even more intimate than every other day of the year. And with this “special” holiday coming up, what better to spend it than to take that special someone out on a date. My personal preference (and the one that is mostly chose by lots of other couples) is a nice outing to see a movie. But what type of movies should couples go and see? Certainly not any one of these that are listed here in my top 5 worst date movies that you would take your date to see.

  • Thrillers

Even if your date is into those kinds of movies, that’s still not the ideal film genre to take your date to go see. I mean, what better way to say “I love you” than to scare the wits out of your girlfriend/boyfriend. Your date would never want to go on another date with you again if that’s what you have in mind.

  • Twilight Films

I know, big shock, right? But look at it this way, what boyfriend would want to sit through a sappy vampire romance movie. No offense to all of the twilight fans out there, but I really just don’t see it as a good date movie. You have to think of the person your dating and whether or not they wouldn’t mind seeing it with you. But I’m pretty sure, they wouldn’t want to see their girlfriend drool over a shirtless Taylor Lautner or swoon over suave Edward Cullen.

  • Slash Flicks

To me, slash flicks rate about the same as thrillers. Personally I don’t even like slasher flicks. But for those people that do like them, I’m pretty sure they don’t want to be romanced by watching people get gutted. It’s just not my idea of a good film genre to see on Valentines Day.

  • Crude Films

The name alone just spells out 7 different levels of awkwardness. Who would even want to watch a film that shows naked people, or crude sex scenes? If guys are looking get some action from their girl by having them sit through a film that even remotely has a sex scene in it, they are obviously mistaken. It is DEFINITELY not the type of film that should be viewed on Valentines Day date.

  • Bad Romantic Comedies

While there may be some rom-coms that are good (and I use the term lightly) most of them however, fall victim to clichés. And not only that, the comedies in them aren’t even that good. So why risk it going to a movie that has bad romantic moments and comedies that are so dry they make a desert look good.

Of course, these are just my opinions on types of films that aren’t good enough to call themselves good date movies. If you want to see on what specific films are bad, check out this link to this website that lists the top 50 worst date movies.
